Introducing the Testa Rossa J
The year is 1957. The prestigious and grueling 24 Hours at Le Mans saw a rule change that ushered in an icon that would launch Ferrari's dramatic domination at Le Mans. That legendary Ferrari was none other than the 3-litre 250 Testa Rossa or "Red Head,” so named for its distinctive red valve covers. The 250 TR became highly decorated in the world of racing, boasting victories at 10 world sports car championship races. Along with the engine optimization, the chassis and body were crafted for endurance and reliability while pushing forward new racing boundaries. Through Enzo Ferrari's and Carlo Chiti's integrative approach, the symbiosis of conservative and progressive, the Testa Rossa remained a competitive force through 1962, and it will forever remain an icon of beauty and inspiration.
The 250 TR is undoubtedly one of the most valuable vintage cars, or car of any type for that matter. There were only 33 made (including variants). Perhaps you can see one of these masterpieces for yourself, if you attend Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, or a comparable auto show. One reportedly sold privately for almost 40 million.
The 250 Testa Rossa’s limited production, historical significance and timeless story transcend the generational divide. And with Ferrari’s new collector’s item initiative – you can share the enchantment with your little Ferrari enthusiasts, or perhaps put it proudly on display. Introducing the Testa Rossa J.
Ferrari is producing a very limited replica of the 1957 250 Testa Rossa. It is important to note that this livery comes with a Ferrari original badge, as well as its own VIN. It is faithfully 75% scale, with body work made of hand-beaten aluminum, leather interior and a steel ladder type chassis. Electric powertrain, removable battery with 60-90 km range, functional lights, working horn and instruments are all included. The design of the chassis started directly from the original drawings kept in Ferrari Classiche.
And like its original – it is very limited. Only 299 are being produced. There is also a high level of personalization and a manettino with 4 different driving modes: novice, comfort, sport and race. Clients will be able to choose between 53 colors for the exterior or one of the 14 historic livery options available.
