Make Way: Purosangue
The anticipation for Ferrari’s first ever four-door, four-seater vehicle in the Prancing Horse’s 75-year history to arrive on the west coast is palpable. Ferrari has created a masterpiece that is truly unique to the world stage: not only do performance, driving pleasure and comfort coexist in perfect harmony, but it is also a peerless encapsulation of the Prancing Horse’s iconic DNA. Thus, the name Purosangue (meaning thoroughbred) was born.
The chassis was designed from scratch and boasts a completely different layout and innovative proportions compared to any modern GT (yes, crossovers and SUVs). For example, most modern GT’s engines are mounted forwards in the car, which affects weight distribution and ultimately driving pleasure. The Purosangue has a mid-front-mounted engine with the gearbox at the rear to create a sporty transaxle layout. Did we mention that it has a naturally-aspirated V12 engine?
